How To Play the Game

Before you Begin Playing

Once the web game is loaded on the page, click anywhere within the boundaries of the video game to "set focus" for keyboard input. If you should ever lose focus or the keyboard input is not being directed to the game, simply click within the boundaries of the game with your left (or only mouse button, if you are using a macintosh) mouse button.

This is a remake of a very old video game (in video gaming terms its very old, 1991). The game uses a simple indicator to let you know it is waiting for your input. This cursor will appear while the game is waiting for information from you. Enter the input by simply typing on the keyboard and hitting the [Enter Key]. The [Enter Key] is always used as the primary input. The mouse and tab keys, which are used in most contemporary games, are not used for input at all.

Menu

Hit any key to leave the intro splash screen (with the red asterisks swirling around the edge) and open the menu screen

The game will prompt you for the name of player 1. The blinking cursor indicates it is waiting for input for this bit of information. Type in the name of player 1 and hit the [Enter Key]. Because this is a remake of older dos input functionality the typical usage of the most in most contemporary games is not used here. The game will then prompt you for player 2. Please enter the name you wish to use for player 2 and hit [Enter Key]

Next the game will ask for the number of points you wish to play to before the game is over. In this case you want to enter a number. So type in your desired number hit the [Enter Key]. If you wish you can leave the default value to 3 by just hitting the [Enter Key] with no value specified.

When the game asks you for the gravity to use, specify a number between 1 and 20 and press the [Enter Key]. Likewise if you wish to use the default value of 9.8 then hit the [Enter Key] without entering a value. The game will automatically use 9.8

The next question asks if you want to jump right into the game or watch the quick introduction vignette. Hit the [P Key] to begin playing or hit the [V Key] to watch the dance. Once the dance is complete you will be taken to the game.

Gameplay

The game will ask you for an Angle input for player 1. Type in any number between 1 and 360 and hit the [Enter Key]. Once that has been accepted the game will ask for a velocity. Enter a number between 1 and 300 and hit the [Enter Key]. The gorilla will then throw the banana based on the numbers you specified. Vary these numbers until you or the other gorilla is hit by a banana. Remember you CAN hit yourself with your own banana. Once your banana has either hit a building or flown off of sides of the screen it will be player 2's turn to enter Angle and Velocity. This will go back and forth until a player is hit with a banana. Once this occurs a new city will drawn or depending on the number of points scored, you will be taken to the game summary where the winner will be declared.
